CA-Foundation

Overview / Significance

These Days many students are losing out interest in engineering & medical and are looking out for other options. CA-Foundation is definitely a buzzword in today’s world. Demand for certified accountants is sensed in the industry. Students attracted towards CA- Foundation course tend to lead their career path as Chartered Accountants (CA) / Cost & Management Accountants (CMA) / Company Secretary (CS). Student’s interest in being an accounting professional is trending with good job openings in the market with handsome pay packets. In last few years there is tremendous progress in scores achieved by the students in all India CA- CPT ( now, known as Foundation) exams. With high growth rate, students are looking for more accurate information and resources available near to them to know more about CA- Foundation curriculum. CA-Foundation is an entry level examination leading to CA / CMA / CS. A 12th Class pass student can take up this course.

The exam questions are of objective type – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) having four different sections as under:

  • Principles and Practice of Accounting
  • Business Law and Business Correspondence and Reporting
  • Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Statistics
  • Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge

The registration opens 4 months before the commencement of exam and students will be eligible to take the exam only if registered with ICAI – Institute of Chartered Accountants of India a statutory body formed by Parliament through an Act (Registration fee at present is ` 9,200). The candidate has to register with ICAI online (www.icai.org).

The exam is held twice in a year i.e. in May and November. The last date for registration for May attempt is 31st December and for November attempt is 30 th June every year. Students will also have an option to choose either Hindi or English as medium of language. Counseling, guidance & online registration facility is provided FREE at NALANDA.

Preparation for CA- Foundation is definitely not an easy task. In order to cover the 4 sections and crack the competitive exam you need to work smart. Students have to manually look for different books and previous year test papers to prepare for their exam.
